5 STAR Reviews of Gravity, Significance, and Solitude (Artistic Pricks Series)!!!

Title: Solitude, Artistic Pricks, #3 By: Cat Mason Release Date: November 9, 2015 Tour Host: DRC Promotions

Synopsis

“The most powerful spark is the one that can reignite the fire that has long gone out.”
After losing his fiancΓ©, Mitchell Taylor abandoned everything that reminded him of her and retreated home to Las Vegas, Nevada. Now his life consists of three things: drowning his pain in the bottom of a vodka bottle, tattooing bodies in the shop he co-owns with his best friend and pissing off their office manager, Shelby. Not only does she infuriate him by challenging everything he does, but fighting with her pushes back the ghosts that haunt him.
Taking control of her future at a young age, Shelby Winston never let anyone or anything get to her. Until now. Mitch is unpredictable. One minute he is drunk and making her want to pull her hair out, the next he is doing something crazy like saving her life.
While every argument between the two has everyone around them waiting for bloodshed, something else is bubbling beneath the surface. There’s no going back once you cross that line, and once the tension erupts into something else, it could change everything forever.

My Review:

5 stars!!
Gravity is the first novel in the Artistic Prick's series. I was captivated and in love with it from the very first chapter! I loved every moment of this book with the intrigue and the utter love story between two characters that made me swoon.
Luke is the oldest of two children, and now the creator and partner in a 24/7 tattoo parlor called Artistic Pricks. His staff and fellow artists are his new family as his sister has gotten married and moved away, and his mother was hardly a mother at all. He takes it upon himself to take care of all and everyone that he cares about, making it his responsibility to make sure everyone is getting what they need.
"It's my job to fix things, to make things better."
Kionna is a "damaged" dancer who is doing what she can to be able to live her life the way that she wants. After losing her only support, her mother, at the age of twenty-one, she did her best to continue with her dream of being a showgirl, with the devastating accident on a show night blowing her what could have been a career ending injury. After being black balled, she turned to exotic dancing never allowing anyone close enough to know the true her. Unfortunately that was not only in her professional life, but also in her personal life as well.
"He smells like spice and screams forbidden."
"The thing is, I can't stay away from him and I don't think I want to."
These two meeting through both of their lives on their axis's. Can they move on from the pains in the past, and rebuild their lives together? All in all Cat hit a home run with these two, I am anxiously awaiting the next book, especially because I couldn't put it down, even for a second!
"I belong with you. I'm not floating anymore, I'm anchored. To you. There has to be something holding you to this Earth other than gravity and for me, that's you, Luke."
"Love is the only force stonger than Gravity."

My Review:
5 Stars!
Significance is the ".5" of the Artistic Pricks series. A prequil novella giving some insight on what happened with Mitch and Becky before "Gravity" happened. It is a sweet story, a military romance that ends heartbreakingly. Honestly, I would suggest reading Significance before reading Gravity. Knowing the ending of this due to reading Gravity first, made it difficult to read.
The love story here is bittersweet. Being a military wife myself, I found myself relating incredibly well to what Becky was going through, and falling in love with Mitch in a deeper way, I felt my heart swell remembering certain things that happened in Gravity. Needless to say.... I cried. I cried a lot.

Just to share some of my favorite, most relatable quotes:
"The love of my life is only minutes from me right now."
"Mitch, my sailor, my heart."
"Right now, I am just content to stare at him and lock every piece of this moment with him away in my memory."
"I knew I wanted Becky to be my wife--that was possibly the easiest decision I have ever made in my life."
" That's when you know you're a perfect match. It's all about being able to share a bag of candy with no issues on who gets what flavors."
"I'd never let you feel like you were doing this alone."
"...all I need for the rest of my life. The man in our kitchen while he kisses me softly and feels me up before I hand him another beer."
"All our dreams, our plans, ripped from us by a threat I couldn't defend us from. Those things I couldn't wait to have that we were talking about having half an hour ago, are gone. All that remains is darkness."

I know that this review is less "what happened" and more quotes, I have to say that is because if I talked about what happens, I fear spoiling the story. Know that this was an amazing short read-- I loved it even though it made me do the ugly girl cry. It is heart warming and heartbreaking all at the same time, a complete masterpiece-- my only wish, and this is purely for selfish reasons, is that rather than it being a novella, I wish it had been the first several chapters in Mitch's own book--- I am very impatiently waiting to read Solitude x

My Review:
5 Stars!!
Solitude is the story of Mitch and Shelby, a dramatic tale of how one man finds a way to face his demons and claim the life that he deserves with the only woman strong enough to help him do it. It is filled with angst and sexy times, drama and flashbacks. At the end of all of it, I found myself wishing and praying that there were more pages of this book. It takes you in a whirl-wind, and you will love every moment of it.
Shelby is a sassy no quips kind of girl. She handles her business and takes care of all those that she cares for in the best way that she can. She never expected that fighting tooh-and-nail with Mitch would be the best kind of aphrodisiac in the world. Falling for this terribly haunted man, will change her life and make her hope again.
"Is it weird for me to say that I want to help him even though we pretty much hate each other?"
Mitch is still mourning the death of his fiance-- but now ontop of that he is haunted by the situation of him almost losing Shelby the same way, and killing the attacker himself.
"Flashbacks haunt me, though in my nightmares, I am always too late. I love nearly paralyzed by the fear of losing everyone I love, so I shut them out."
Convinced he is incapable of love or being the man that Shelby needs, he continues to push her away in all the ways that he can.
"How many times will I break before the pieces are too broken to pick up?"
After a not-so-gentle butt-kicking from his best friend and "boss" he realized that allowing the path to continue as it has, would mean emotional suicide.
"I never thought I could ever want someone again as badly as I ache to feel her right now."
"I wont risk losing her and there is only one way to keep that from happening."
"Shelby was a piece that, though I didn't know what was missing, I can't imagine going back to a family dinner without her."
"Without even realizing it, Shelby has begun repairing something that I broke, by pushing away my mother, after Becky died."
I guess, all I can say is I very quickly fell in love with this story-- and I pray that Cat will grace us with another segment in this series. With a group of characters so dynamic and engaging I know with a certainty, that I am going to have a book hangover for days.
