Excerpt 1
His mouth lowered to her ear, and he whispered, “You’re like the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden.” Her eyes slid closed as he stroked his fingers through the length of her hair. “Fresh and captivating, so tempting that I’m consumed with images of having you. But is this overwhelming desire for you only because you’re forbidden?”
“I don’t care.”
“Right now, neither do I. All I can think about is watching pleasure fill those green eyes of yours…but I know if I touch you, it will be the death of me, because once would never be enough.”
Her body tingled in anticipation, and then his mouth captured hers. Any coherent thought drifted away. His fingers splayed against her back, and he pressed her closer.
Currents of heat flowed into her. She met the strokes of his tongue, needing more of him. Needing all of him. Urgency made her movements jerky as she removed his shirt. The material fell off his broad shoulders and whispered to the floor. He fisted his hand in her hair, and the feel of his hard body against hers sent white sparks ricocheting behind her closed lids. She moaned into his mouth as his tongue swept against hers.
Knock, knock!
They broke apart. In a split second Bronson untangled himself from her.
“Leaving for court in fifteen minutes,” Gibbs’s muffled voice announced from the other side of the door.
She fought to slow her breathing. Desperation crashed into her. This couldn’t be it.
“Okay,” Bronson said to Gibbs, and then ran a hand down his face. A few seconds ticked by. “Son of a bitch. You’re making this so hard, Rae.”
A chill shook her, and she wrapped her arms around her middle.
With a tug he opened the closet door. He didn’t meet her gaze as he shrugged on a fresh shirt, but his mouth had thinned into a straight line. She could almost hear Bronson mentally lecturing himself for kissing her. Pain jabbed into her heart. She wanted to beg him to run away with her, to give them a chance, but before she could conjure the words, he opened the connecting door to the bathroom. “You’d best go—your makeup and hair need repairing.”
Emotion clogged her throat. She couldn’t speak for fear she would burst into tears, so she walked out of his room with her pride, and the cold, hard truth that Bronson would be forever lost to her.

Tattooed as Trouble (Vegas Vixens) By J.L Hammer was action packed and entertaining as can be, considering the title was slightly misleading to begin with. At first glance one would think that this was a book with a strong heroine most likely in the tattooing business; not a strong willed woman headed into witness protection. I loved that it ended up with an incredibly sweet HEA— I did not like, however that some of the funniest bits weren’t even related to the main characters. With a story line that keeps on spinning, this is more of a thriller than a romance novel, a refreshing spin on what woman’s lit should look like. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who wanted something that will keep you on your toes and guessing what will happen next!
