“I hate you,” I whispered to Dominic.
“I know,” he replied as he put me down on the ground but didn’t let me go. He turned me to face him. “I have to ice that pretty face of yours, remember?”
I hated that I turned red again, and I hated Dominic even more for smiling at me because of it. When he turned us both to face his house, I stared wide-eyed. The two men that stood leaning against the doorframe were seriously sexy.
“Wow,” I whispered.
Dominic snapped his head at me and glared.
“Who’s the little beauty, bro?” the lad on the left asked.
Little beauty? I thought. Me?
Oh.
My.
God.
The man had dark hair like Dominic but it was long, it almost reached his shoulders. He had the same dimples when he grinned, his arms were huge with muscle and he had multiple tattoos. I could see this because he was shirtless. One tattoo was really colourful and wrapped around his arm and slithered up to his shoulder and neck.
The other lad was bare-chested as well; he had some tattoos and was muscular also. His hair was tightly cut to his head and he had a lot of scars on his torso and face that I could see from a good distance away, but he was still strikingly hot.
I found it very hard not to look at the oblique muscles they were both sporting, but I managed it, and I think I deserved a medal for it.
“Don’t even think about it Alec, she’s mine,” Dominic snarled making both the men grin.
Again with that? I thought. Seriously?
“Ahh,” the brother with the longer hair grinned. ”You must be Bronagh then?”
“How do you know me name?” I asked, confused.
Both the men grinned when Dominic snarled at them.
“Don’t mind them. The asshole talking to you is Alec, the prick on the right is Kane, and my other brother Ryder is in the house with Damien.”
Dominic, Damien, Alec, Kane and Ryder.
Oh, my God. Their names were just as sexy as they were.
“It’s a pleasure.” Kane said to me after a moment.
He looked like he was glaring at me, but when Alec murmured something to him; he smiled and scanned his eyes over my body openly.
I melted; he had such a stunning smile, which caused me to smile back at him. I didn’t even pay attention to the scar curved around his mouth because his smile was simply breath taking.
“The pleasure is all mine, Mr. Slater.” I purred.
Dominic’s hand suddenly grabbed hold of mine. “All right, that’s enough of that,” he said tugging me into him.
I felt my face and neck flush as I tried to push away from him. “What the hell, Dominic?” I snapped. “The past few weeks you annoy me from a distance but within the last half hour you won’t stop touchin’ me. What the hell, man?”
“Man,” Alec and Kane mimicked my accent in unison making each other chuckle.
I flicked my eyes towards them; I had them narrowed but when Kane laughed at my trying to get away from Dominic, I couldn’t keep it up for long.
“How old are you both?” I asked, smiling.
“Twenty-five,” Alec replied.
Kane cocked his brow. “I’m twenty-three, how old are you?”
“I’m eighteen today.” I replied.
“Happy birthday,” Alec and Kane said in unison making my insides flutter with delight.
“What?” Dominic asked, gaining my attention. “Today is your birthday?”
I looked at him and nodded.
He frowned. “Now I feel even worse for hitting you.”
“What?” Alec and Kane roared.
I jumped while Dominic flung his hands up in front of him in an ‘I surrender’ motion.
“It was an accident,” he stated. “Some prick hit her in school so I kicked his ass, but when she tried to pull me back, my elbow hit her face. I brought her here to ice it.”
Alec waved us forward. “Yeah, Dame told us about the fight but left her out of it.”
I was obviously her.
Dominic tugged me forward then, so I followed him back up the steps to his house. I had to turn so I could get by Alec’s shirtless, muscular body.
“I li-like your tattoos,” I stuttered.
And your mouth-watering face and body.
“Bronagh!” Dominic scowled at me when we got inside the beautiful house. “Stop it.”
I pulled my hand from his.
“What? I just said I liked his tattoos.” I frowned then pointed my finger dangerously at him. “I don’t know where you’re gettin’ off thinkin’ you can tell me what to do, Dominic, because you can’t, so stop it before I break a bone.”
He smirked at me. “You want to get physical with me, darling?”
“What?” I spluttered before licking my suddenly dry lips. “I think we need to go to the hospital with you, you’re sayin’ weird things and just actin’ out of character since that fight. I really think Jason hit you too hard on the head.”
Dominic’s brothers chuckled as they moved around us. I watched as they went into what I would have guessed to be a sitting room but turned out to be a home gym. That explained why they were shirtless and so buff; they were working out and clearly did it often.
“Are you going to stare at my brothers all day or are you going to come with me?” Dominic asked in an impatient tone.
I bit down on my lower lip. “If that is a legit question, I vote to stay here and stare at your brothers all day.”

Keela Daley is the black sheep of her family. She has always come second to her younger cousin Micah. Even in the eyes of her mother, Micah shone bright, and Keela faded to black. Now, in adulthood, Micah is a bride-to-be and the spotlight is solely on her. Keela is a low priority…or so she thinks.
Alec Slater is a bachelor, never one to bed the same woman, or man, twice. He is a free agent who does what he pleases and answers to no one; that is until a fiery Irish redhead with a temper to match her hair colour knocks him on his arse. Literally.
She hates to admit it, but Keela needs a favour from the cocky Slater brother, a huge favour. She needs him to not only escort her to Micah’s wedding, but to also pose as her boyfriend. Alec agrees to help Keela, but has certain conditions for her to abide by. He wants her body and plans to have it before anyone can say I do.
What he doesn’t plan on is losing his heart as well as the possibility of losing his family when someone from his past threatens his future.

I focused on the kitchen table and began to stack up the magazines. When they were in a pile, I looked at the table and stopped for a second. I picked up the envelope that Mr. Pervert dropped off last night and sighed as I turned it over and ripped it open, not caring about the contents inside.
I turned the card in my hand over when I pulled it from the envelope. I opened the pretty cover and read the first line. I dropped the card on the table and stepped back.
“Oh, my God!” I said, staring down at the table.
“What?” Aideen asked as she came into the kitchen. I pointed at the card without looking away from it.
She moved around the table, picked up the card, and read it. “No fuckin’ way!”
I nodded my head.
“They invited you to their weddin’?” Aideen growled. “The sick bastards!”
I felt a little dizzy so I pulled out a chair from my kitchen table and sat down before I leaned my head forward and placed it on the table and let the tears come. “Why would they do this to me?”
“Because they are evil, pure bloody evil!”
I cried hard when Aideen began to read the wedding invitation to Micah and Jason’s wedding aloud. She stopped midway, ripped the invite up, got her lighter from the kitchen drawer, and lit it on fire. I sat up straight and stared at her when she walked to the sink, dropped the burning invitation into the sink, and then poured water on it. The smoke alarm went off from the smoke so Aideen stood up on a chair, pulled the battery out of the alarm on the ceiling then got down and opened the windows in the apartment to air it out.
I didn’t move as she did all this; I could only sit there and cry.
“I still can’t believe I didn’t recognise Jason, I’m so stupid. I thought he really liked me. He was with me for six weeks just to get back at Micah for cheatin’ on him. That bastard made me fall for him and he knew it!”
Aideen moved in front of me and kneeled down. “You had never seen Jason in person; you don’t go round to Micah’s house, at all. The most you had seen were pictures of him on Facebook. He dyed his hair black and hit the gym since his school year ended. He isn’t the same person that’s on his profile picture. He looks very different so this is not your fault. He played you; that fucker took your virginity for fuck’s sake!” Aideen’s voice was getting louder and louder as she continued speaking, her anger at what Jason did to me getting more obvious.
I sobbed as I leaned forward and wrapped my arms around Aideen and squeezed.
“We will just pretend you never got that invite, okay? We’ll be here all day. I can arrange all my coursework for the students who are attendin’ summer school this year and you can write some more of your book. What do you say?”
I groaned and pulled back from our hug. “I can’t even think about writin’ at the moment. I just want to go to bed and not get up ever again.”
When Aideen slapped me across the face, it took me a few seconds for the pain and realisation of what she did to hit me. “What was that for?” I snapped and lifted my hand to my now throbbing cheek.
“For gettin’ yourself into a slump over a prick who does not deserve it!” Aideen stated.
I frowned and continued to rub my cheek as I said, “Sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry, not for anythin’. Okay?”
I nodded my head and hugged Aideen again and when we separated, I said, “I have to go to the weddin’. You know me ma will come round here and pester me for life if I don’t. If I go and sit down in the back of the church and reception, she won’t care.”
Aideen growled. “I hate your ma.”
I smiled making my friend chuckle.
“I just wish I didn’t have to go single. That will only make the entire day worse.”
“The entire week, actually. The weddin’ is in the Bahamas and you leave in the next few days.”
“What?” I screeched.
Aideen nodded. “That’s what the invitation said.”
“Fuck!” I groaned and hung my head.
We were silent for a moment until Aideen dramatically gasped which made me jump.
“What is it?” I asked.
She looked at me and said, “You’re goin’ to kill me, but I have a solution for you so you won’t be attendin’ the weddin’ as a single woman.”
I raised my eyebrows at her. “Yeah, what’s that then?”
“Not that, more like who?”
I furrowed my eyebrows. “Who then?”
Aideen smirked as she said, “Alec Slater.”
